The big brake look is big business and has really taken off as more and more custom wheels and rims have come onto the market. In the past, you really never saw the brake assembly and calipers because thy were obscured by the wheels and hubcaps but today’s restylers have done away with smaller tires and ugly, factory hubcaps meaning that you need to do something about your brakes if you want a true, custom look.
There are tons of options for you to choose from such as MGP or ABS Caliper Covers as well as brake pad caliper plates from custom manufacturers like American Car Craft bu for the purist there’s really nothing better than caliper paint. Sure, you may end up spending a little more time to do it well but, as you can see in the picture above, the results are beyond compare if you’re the type who likes to keep things as close to factory as possible.
Now, we could spend a lot of time talking about the merits of G2 Paint especially as it compares to VHT and Duplicolor but we won’t, at least not today. Instead, we’re presenting this application video so you can see what it takes and make the smart decision when it comes to brake and caliper cosmetic modification. Let us know what you think and happy Thursday!
