Let me start off by admitting to the fact that I have an obvious bias here since I work for Rvinyl and we sell tons of ProFocos LEDs and lighting accessories everyday. Okay, so now that we’ve gotten that out n the open we can ask the question again: Are LEDs really any better than the incandescent bulbs that came with your vehicle?
Seeing Is Believing
The short answer to that question is, of course, a yes. A big, fat YES actually. I promise that I’m not going to bore you with a complex discussion about lumens and wattage (mostly because I’m not an electrical engineer but also because it would be BORING) but it is really clear that LEDs put off a lot more light than their filament burning cousins.
No. I don’t expect you to blindly believe the guy selling them which is why I’m posting a video which shows, among other things, the difference that a ProFocos LED can make. Towards the end of the short one-minute video you’ll see one of our customer’s Camaros. He installed ProFocos on the passenger side and kept the factory bulbs on the driver side. See the difference?
So, Mike, What’s the Catch?
No catch as far as I can tell. LEDs burn brighter, last longer and use less energy than conventional bulbs do. Plus, they’re ridiculously cheap (in price that is, not in quality). About the only thing you need to be aware of is that some vehicles may require you to add an adaptor or load resistor (also known as a warning canceller) to prevent hyper flashing or an error warning. Why is that? Simply because LEDs use so little power that the vehicle’s computer interprets it as a missing or burnt out bulb.
Convinced yet? If not, you should definitely do some research on your own but once you find out that I wasn’t just blowing smoke up your rear come back and pick up a set for your almost any interior or exterior application on your vehicle. We’ve literally got thousands of bulbs for every application and almost every vehicle so what are you waiting for? Check out our selection and, when you’re ready to buy your LEDs, send me an email to email@example.com mentioning this blog and I’ll send you a 10% discount just for you.
