New Beetle Interiors – How to Spruce Up Your Bug

Interior Accessories for Your 2nd Gen Bug

I have been scouring the net for cool accessories for the 1999 – 2005 VW Beetle (aka the New Beetle even though it’s now technically the Old New Beetle) and I have to admit that I’m not finding a whole heck of a lot. I’m unpleasantly surprised by this dearth of hacks for the Beetle given that its entire raison d’être (that’s your French phrase of the day) is to be cute and fun to look at. So far this is what I’ve found for you folks:

  1. Putco’s Chrome Switch Cover Trim
  2. Rvinyl (Vinyl) Dash Kits
  3. Die Cut Flower Decals

How sad is this? Maybe I don’t know where to look but even a quick browse of http://www.newbeetle.org doesn’t seem to help but I’ve posted my question there so I’m hoping to get some ideas shortly. Anyway, onto the mods…

Putco Chrome Switch Covers

I am almost ashamed that this is one of the entries here. Maybe my Google is broken but there has to be something more than a single switch cover for the Bug which is not to say these aren’t nice. No, they are well made and attractive to be sure but I feel like Putco could have done more like an entire kit for the center console like the painted dash above. Still, that much chrome might blind a person so there may be a method to their madness.

1998-2002 VW New Beetle Chrome Dash KitRvinyl Dash Kits – A Mod You Can Be Proud Of

Well, our dash kits are a mod I can be proud of at least. The above pic shows that, yes, you can pimp out your New Beetle in chrome for $39.99 and don’t have to settle for die-cut daisy decals! Our dash kits are pre-cut to accent your dash and come in a ridiculous variety of colors and finishes. Now that I’ve rediscovered these customer rebate photos I will be posting a video to YOuTube shortly so stay tuned for that and to see if anyone from NewBeetle.org gets back to us. Until then check out these previously unreleased photos.

  1. How about woody kits for inside and out, crome bumpers that look authentic, will just stick on how about crome grills for under he rear window how about a crome hood handle with crome strip up the center of the hood, make a disc to cover where the hood emblem goes and just reapply the emblem at the top of the hood.
